The Tapestry - The Flood: Part 1

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church continues our walk through the narrative portions of Scripture. This week is part 1 of the flood narrative (Gen. 6-9). He looks at why God destroyed humanity in the flood, why Noah and his family were spared, and some other contemporary literature with the flood account.

In this story we see the continued descent of humanity, and an example of one of the seven deadly sins (wrath) manifest in Cain. While we may not have stooped to Cain's level, where do we see our own culpability for sin and brokenness in the world.

This week we look at his statements to the church of Laodicea. Jesus communicates a harsh message to a wealthy city. While they are physically prosperous, he reminds them they are spiritually impoverished.

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church continues our sermon series looking at the letters from Jesus to the 7 churches in Revelation. This week we look at his statements to the church of Philadelphia. Christians in Philadelphia had been excluded from the worship of God in the synagogues. But Jesus reminds them who holds the keys to the kingdom (him).

This week we look at his statements to the church of Sardis. This was a church known for its energy and exuberance. It had a reputation for being alive, but Jesus instead labels it as dead/asleep.
