This week, Michael Thornhill delivers the message at Restoration Community Church. Michael is the Director of DEI at Venture Outdoors. He shares about the experience of Elijah, in between his two mountaintop experiences of the defeat of the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel and his journey to God in the chariot of fire, Elijah is in a period of deep depression. Michael shares how God cares for his physical and emotional needs by slowing him down and reminding Elijah that he is not alone.

The Tapestry - The Sacrifice of Isaac (Genesis 22)

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church continues our walk through the narrative portions of Scripture. We are currently in a multi-week focus on Abram (later renamed Abraham). Sometime following the birth of Isaac, Abraham is asked to do the unthinkable and offer his son as a sacrifice to the Lord. This week we looked at this event and the question God was asking "Are you willing to give up what you cherish most for me?"

The Tapestry - The Birth of Isaac Foretold and Fulfilled (Genesis 17-18)

This week we see, after 24 years, God's promise that Abraham would have a child of the covenant, finally fulfilled.

The Tapestry - The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11)

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church continues our walk through the narrative portions of Scripture. This week is focusing on the story of the tower of Babel (Gen. 11). In this we will see how the residents of this region violated God's command to create diversity through culture and God's rejection of their attempt to control him for their purposes.

Q&A Sunday - Communion

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church addresses another Q&A Sunday where participants can submit questions. This question involves our understanding of communion.

Question: “Why can people receive the body and blood of Christ at one church but not another? If we believe the same thing, why am I made to think I am sinning by receiving the body and blood of Christ in a tradition different than my own?”
