Biblical Safety Nets

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church takes a look at the concept of social safety nets. Government entitlement programs are highly debated in our political setting. Does the Bible give us any insight into whether Christians can support these programs? As we dive into Scripture, we see that the heart of God is one of compassion where he provides social programs to help others flourish.

The Parable of the Talents

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church takes us through the "Parable of the Talents" as found in Matthew's gospel. Often, the focus of this parable is productivity for the kingdom of God. Instead, Pastor Chris reminds us of the truths of our security in the gospel, and reminds us of the need for faith in the goodness and salvation of God.

Pastor Chris Ansell of Restoration Community Church returns to the New City Catechism. This week he describes the hypostatic union, the fully human and fully divine natures of Jesus Christ and focuses on his humanity. Question 21 will cover both this week and next.

Q21: What sort of Redeemer is needed to bring us back to God?

A: One who is truly human and also truly God.

Q23: Why must the Redeemer be truly God?

A: That because of his divine nature his obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective; and also that he would be able to bear the righteous anger of God against sin and yet overcome death.
